24 VIII 2025: U.S. being destroyed by whims

The United States is being destroyed by the whims of an ignorant, deranged man. The only clear policy of the Trump administration is to take revenge on everyone Trump thinks has “wronged” him. Of course, the list of these “enemies” is just about endless.

There are other sources of Trump’s whims: the neo-nazi Stephen Miller and the Christian-nationalist Russell Vought. Trump seems to believe whatever these dangerous ideologues tell him; they work mostly in secret and are surely the sources of many of Trump’s more destructive initiatives. Trump is too gaga to think up all the damage he is doing.

I have seen a photograph of Our Leader wearing a red cap that has on its front the words “Trump Was Right About Everything.” This reminds me of photos I’ve seen of Italy immediately after WWII that show empty streets and ruined walls with stenciled signs that say “Mussolini ha siempre ragione,” “Mussolini is always right.” If the Smithsonian survives, people may one day be able to see in its collection a battered hat that says “Trump was right about everything.”

24 VIII 2025: On the outside looking in

Donald Trump tries to destroy or at least do harm to anything from which he feels excluded. He is in fact excluded from a lot of things because he is a vulgarian criminal with whom no one with taste or honesty wants to be associated. But he also imagines he would be excluded from anything he can’t understand. His resentment is boundless and the number of persons and entities he resents is potentially limitless.

18 VIII 2025: TACO Tutti

Well, Trump hasn’t sold out Ukraine, not yet. But it’s obviously where he’s headed. Don Putin demands this, and if Trumpie doesn’t pay up, well, maybe Trump’s already dirt-caked reputation could get even worse. There could be some sort of blackmail between Don Putin and his “friend” Trumpie.

Or maybe Trump is in love with Putin, just like Krazy Kat, convinced that Ignatz loves her despite the fact that he keeps throwing bricks at her.

17 VIII 2025: D.C. crime surge since January

Crime in Washington, D.C. had been moderating until January when the Capital saw an unprecedented surge in crime. Areas of the greatest growth in crime include vandalism, illegal terminations, denial of civil rights, unrestrained lying and all forms of deceit, failure to obey court orders, embezzling, and virtually criminal expenditure of government funds on illegitimate trips and events.  Almost all Republicans in Congress are guilty of failing to do their sworn duty. The executive branch is guilty of acts that imperil national security,  the economy, and American civil culture.

12 VIII 2025: Why was that man masked?

I read that savages disguised as agents of ICE are arresting women and raping them. This was bound to happen. Indeed, I would like to know the criteria for employment as an ICE operative. Level of education? criminal history? etc.

In American history, the only people to wear masks were bandits or white nationalists, i.e., the Ku Klux Klan. Generally, the only government agents to wear masks have been executioners. So why are the ICE boys wearing masks? To prevent their being recognized and harassed by their neighbors as the MAGAs’ claim? or isn’t it because people who are doing detestable things usually wear masks?

11 VIII 2025: Keeping up with Hitler

President Trump hasn’t caught up with

der Führer, but he’s giving it his best try

Hitler persecuted                 Jews

Trump persecutes                immigrants

Hitler employed a personal army:     SS

Trump employs a personal army:     ICE

Hitler persecuted                gypsies

Trump demonizes the         homeless

Hitler persecuted anyone      unAryan

Trump persecutes                 LGBTQ

9 VIII 2025: Trump’s ballroom

Percy Bysshe Shelley, Ozymandias

I met a traveller from an antique land,

Who said—“Two vast and trunkless legs of stone

Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand,

Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,

And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,

Tell that its sculptor well those passions read

Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,

The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;

And on the pedestal, these words appear:

My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;

Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!

Nothing beside remains. Round the decay

Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare

The lone and level sands stretch far away.”

7 VIII 2025: White supremacist trash

Some noticeably dumb Republicans in the House (Byron Donalds of FLA and Andy Ogles of TN) have been howling about Rep. Delia C. Ramirez’s assertion of pride in her Guatamalan heritage. Tom Homan, Hulk Hogan’s chosen successor, has dismissed what Ramirez said as “disgusting” — he knows all there is to know about disgusting.

Numb-skulls united in their on-going drive  to roil the base. Racist, white-supremacist, probably evangelicals, except for Homan who claims to be a Catholic. Indeed, Homan claims to have a more correct idea of what it is to be a Catholic than the Pope.

Oh, what trash gets on to the airwaves!

2 VIII 2025: The Trump of Hearts

I read about Trump’s firing the Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor statistics because he didn’t like the figures the Bureau reported. He is like the Queen of Hearts in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Wikipedia describes her as follows: “She is a childish, foul-tempered monarch whom Carroll himself describes as “a blind fury”, and who is quick to give death sentences at even the slightest of offenses. One of her most famous lines is the oft-repeated “Off with his/her head!” / “Off with their heads!”
